Eddy Silitonga Keliling Dunia Promosi Kebudayaan RI

Menteri Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata RI Jero Wacik telah menunjuk penyanyi senior Eddy Silitonga sebagai Duta Kebudayaan Indonesia 2010, yang akan mempromosikan budaya dan pariwisata nasional dengan berkeliling dunia menggunakan angkutan darat.

Siaran pers dari Eddy Silitonga yang diterima ANTARA di Jakarta, Selasa (9/2), menyebutkan, perjalanan itu akan dilakukan melewati 49 negara yang tersebar di lima benua di dunia, dan akan memakan waktu lebih dari sembilan bulan.

Rencananya, perjalanan keliling dunia itu akan dilaksanakan mulai 16 April 2010 sampai 10 Januari 2011, atau mundur dari jadwal semula pada 14 Februari sampai 10 November 2010. Penundaan itu disebabkan berbagai persiapan yang belum matang.

Menurut Eddy Silitonga, program itu terdiri dari tiga kegiatan utama yaitu bernyanyi di berbagai tempat yang dilewati, seperti kafe, restoran, hotel atau panggung rakyat. Kegiatan kedua, kata pelantun tembang lawas Mama dan Jatuh Vinta itu, adalah melakukan 'people to people contact' dengan masyarakat atau turis setempat.

Sedangkan kegiatan ketiga, katanya, adalah mengadakan acara Malam Kesenian Indonesia di seluruh KBRI yang dilewati.

Tim keliling dunia yang diberi nama 'Indonesian Team for Culture and Tourism Promo by Eddy Silitonga' itu akan terbagi dalam dua grup, yakni Journey Team yang terdiri dari enam orang, termasuk Eddy Silitonga, yang berkeliling dunia, dan Supporting Team yang akan memantau dan mendukung kebutuhan logistik selama perjalanan.

Kedua tim itu akan dibantu oleh ahli hukum Todung Mulya Lubis dan pejabat dari kepolisian Irjen (Pol) Agus Wantoro sebagai penasihat tim untuk menyukseskan program itu.

Salah satu dari anggota Journey Team adalah seorang kameraman televisi yang akan meliput seluruh kegiatan tim selama satu minggu, dan selanjutnya hasil rekaman akan diedit serta disiarkan di salah satu televisi swasta nasional dalam program acara berdurasi 30 menit.

Perjalanan keliling dunia tersebut akan menggunakan dua jenis kendaraan yakni satu tipe MPV dan tipe SUV. Salah satu kendaraan itu akan memuat LCD outdoor screen yang akan memutar film-film tentang kebudayaan dan pariwisata Indonesia selama perjalanannya. (ant/bun)

Calon Istri Berjenggot, Dubes Arab Batalkan Pernikahan

Seorang duta besar (dubes) Arab membatalkan pernikahannya setelah mengetahui kalau calon istrinya ternyata punya jenggot dan bermata juling! Selama ini wajah wanita itu selalu tertutup cadar.

Demikian seperti diberitakan media Arab berbahasa Inggris, Gulf News dan dilansir kantor berita AFP, Kamis (11/2/2010).
Sebelumnya diplomat Arab tersebut cuma beberapa kali bertemu dengan calon istrinya itu. Dan tiap kali pertemuan, sang wanita selalu menutupi wajahnya dengan cadar.

Setelah pasangan itu menandatangani kontrak pernikahan, sang dubes mencoba mencium mempelai wanita. Saat itulah, pria yang dirahasiakan identitasnya itu mengetahui kalau wanita itu memiliki jenggot dan bermata juling.

Melihat kenyataan itu, sang dubes pun menuntut pembatalan kontrak pernikahan. Dia juga menuntut ganti rugi sebesat 500 ribu dirham (sekitar Rp 1,2 miliar) atas perhiasan, pakaian dan barang-barang lainnya yang telah diberikan untuk wanita tersebut.

Dalam persidangan di pengadilan syariah di Uni Emirat Arab, dubes tersebut mengaku telah ditipu dengan pernikahan tersebut. Sebab selama ini ibu wanita tersebut telah memperlihatkan foto saudara perempuan calon istrinya, bukannya foto wanita itu sendiri.

Pengadilan memang mengabulkan permohonan sang dubes untuk membatalkan pernikahan tersebut. Namun pengadilan menolak tuntutan kompensasi yang diajukannya.
